Promotions Configuration

Promotions enable you to sell items at a promotional price in a given period and time. The promotion is a discount percent or discount amount on the retail price.

How to: Enable Promotion in LS Express

To enable the "Promotion" and "Validation Period" features in LS Express, you need to set up number series for both Promotion Numbers and Validation Period Numbers. Here's how you can do it:

 

1. Open the LS Express Administration page.

2. In the Promotion Fast Tab, locate the fields labeled Promotion Nos. and Validation Period Nos.

   

3. To enable these features, you need to enter the code for the number series in both fields. The code determines the number series used to assign numbers to promotions and validation periods.

 

Note: Do not leave the Promotion Nos. and Validation Period Nos. fields blank.

How to: Configure a Promotion

1. Open the Promotion page and create a new Promotion.

2. Enter the Promotion No. from the list of number series and provide a Description for the promotion.

3. Choose the items that you want to include in the Promotion Lines. These are the items that will be eligible for the promotional discount.

   

4. You can add discounts for:

    

   1. Individual items in the list.

      

   2. All items.

      

   3. A flat amount off the Item Price using the Discount Amount.

      

5. Select the check box from the Exclude field if you want to exclude specific items, such as certain colors or variants, from the promotion.

   

6. You can create custom Validation Periods for the promotion, defining when the promotion will be valid.

   

   For example, you can set the promotion to be valid on weekends throughout June 2021.

   

7. Additionally, you can configure promotions by the time of day, such as for Happy Hour.

   

8. Click Enable to make the promotion valid and active.

   

9. In the LS Express POS, when you add an item to the sale, the promotion will not automatically apply. To apply the promotion, open the Promotion menu and click Select Promotion.

   

10. The system will detect if the current sale is eligible for any active promotions, and if so, the line discount will be updated accordingly.

    

    

11. If you add items that are not part of the promotion occurrence list, the promotion will not be available for those items.
