Promotion
Promotions in LS Express allow you to offer items at a discounted price during a specified period and time. The promotion can be set as either a discount percentage or a discount amount on the retail price. You can select and apply promotions to items based on your preferences, which are defined in the Promotion card.
At the Point of Sale, when you add an item to the sales line, the promotion will not be automatically applied. Instead, you need to manually select the relevant promotion to trigger the discount for the selected item.
If an item on the sale is eligible for more than one active promotion, LS Express does not combine (stack) the discounts, and you are not asked to choose between them. The system automatically keeps only the promotion that gives the item the largest discount. To compare the candidate promotions, each discount – whether defined as a discount percentage or as a fixed discount amount – is converted to the equivalent discount percentage it would give on that line, and the highest one wins. If the item's current price already matches or beats every applicable promotion (for example, because of a discount already on the line), no promotion discount is applied; if a promotion already applied to the line is later beaten by a better match, the previous promotion is removed and replaced by the better one.
To create a new promotion, follow these steps:
-
Open the Promotion page.
-

-
You can define the Promotion based on the specific type of discount value, and you also have the option to exclude certain items from the promotion.
