How to: Setup Devices in-Cloud

The device license allows multiple users to use a device covered by the license. For example, this might be a point of sale, shop floor, or warehouse device.

 

For POS and mobile devices, there should be a shared Business Central user (device name), and the user should be created in Azure Active Directory.

To set up devices with a device license in-cloud for LS Express, follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Create a POS User in CSP

  • In the CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) portal, create a POS user without assigning a product license. This user will be used as a shared Business Central user for the device.

 

Step 2: Create a Group in Azure Active Directory

  • In the Azure Active Directory, create a group named "Dynamics 365 Business Central Device Users." Add the previously created POS user to this group. This group will be used to manage device users in LS Express.

Step 3: Update Users in LS Express

  • In LS Express, go to the Users page. Click on Update users from Microsoft 365 and add the POS users (device users) to the POS Subscription Setup.

Subscription Setup

  • Go to Administration > Navigate > Subscription and add the POS users on the Subscription Setup page.
