LS Pay for LS Express

LS Pay for LS Express is the official Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) software solution for LS Express. With LS Pay for LS Express, you can offer secure transactions for all sales taking place in your store locations. LS Pay for LS Express is EMV and PCI certified, and it seamlessly integrates with PCI-compliant payment device providers. For general information about LS Pay, see here.

With LS Pay for LS Express, you can:

  • Simplify POS payments

  • Ease wallet implementation

  • Ensure EMV and PCI compliance

  • Reduce payment integration points

  • Protect cardholder data

  • Sell on stationary and mobile POS terminals

LS Pay bridges the gap between your LS Express POS and your Payment Service Provider Card Terminal, enabling you to automatically send card transactions from the POS to the Card Terminal. LS Pay then responds back to the LS Express POS once the transaction has been processed by the PSP.

By adding LS Pay to your subscription, you eliminate the possibility of human error of keying in the wrong amount at the card terminal.

New partners and customers are encouraged to utilize the LS Pay Service, while existing customers are urged to migrate to it as well. LS Retail plans to phase out the older LS Pay UWP app and discontinue support for it in the future. Note: LS Pay does not replace the need for a Payment Service Provider (PSP).

Have a look at the sections below on how to configure each component.

Subscription

Your subscription must include LS Pay. For more information, please contact your LS Express supplier.

You can try out LS Pay in a Cronus demo company without adding it to your subscription. See LS Pay Testing (without a subscription) for more information.

LS Pay is compatible with various POS terminals. LS Express has been successfully tested with the following devices:

And for testing purposes, LS Pay has a "mock" plugin that supports all functionality.

Note: LS Pay for LS Express is currently only available for Windows. If you are running your LS Express POS on an iOS or Android device, you will need to manually enter the amount of the transaction at the card terminal.

LS Pay Testing (without a subscription)

  1. From the LS Express role center, open the Administration page, then select Actions > LS Pay > LS Pay Testing.

  2. Enable LS Pay for testing.

    • If you choose not to test against the app, you can only test the LS Pay flow within LS Express.

    • If you choose Yes to test against the LS Pay app, the LS Pay app is invoked whenever a payment requires authorization, even if the app is not installed on the device in use.

Note: This action is only visible in a Cronus demo company.

Configure a Payment Method to use LS Pay

For LS Pay to be triggered in the POS, you need to configure a payment method to trigger the LS Pay app.

  • You can either add LS Pay to an existing payment method or create a new Payment Method.

  • Once LS Pay has been added to the subscription (or LS Pay Testing enabled for Cronus), the LS Pay Payment toggle will become visible in the Payment Method's settings.

Note: It is possible to have multiple payment methods that use LS Pay

  • When you choose a Payment Method with LS Pay Payment activated in the POS, you will be prompted with the option to Open LS Pay for LS Express.

The LS Pay should open and process the payment.

Testing LS Pay with Cronus Demo Company

  • Once you have installed the LS Pay app from the Windows store, to test with Cronus Demo Company, select Mock instead of selecting a Payment Provider from the list.

Note: The first time you open the LS Pay, you will need to authenticate using the same user as is logged into the LS Express POS.

Accepting payment

Once LS Pay has been set up, it can be used with LS Express. See How to: Use the LS Pay for more information.

Troubleshooting

To use LS Pay with a production company, the LS Express license must include LS Pay.

A common pitfall when dealing with LS Pay in LS Express:

"When I accept an LS Pay payment, nothing happens, or a new empty tab is opened."

  • This typically happens when the app is not installed on the device being used.

  • Make sure you are authenticating against LS Pay using the same user as is logged into the Point of Sale.
