Upgrade to License Manager V3
Transition process for existing customers
When the new License Manager v3 is released, you can continue using the old License Manager for at least one version cycle. To make the transition easier, you will see a notification banner at the top of the main page in the old License Manager. This notification will inform you about the License Manager update and prompt you to enter a license key to access the new functionality. A warning message will be displayed until a license key is activated.
Differences between Production and Sandbox environments
When you input the license key, the new License Manager v3 will check your environment type—Production or Sandbox—and communicate accordingly with Production or Test units. If you are using a sandbox environment, you can install LS Express from the Microsoft AppSource and take advantage of a one-month free trial. After the trial period, you will need to enter a valid license key to continue testing. This allows you to explore and test License Manager V3 features in a sandbox setting without needing immediate license activation.
What you need to do during the upgrade
When the new License Manager V3 is released, follow these steps:
-
Input the License Key: Enter the license key provided to complete the upgrade.
-
Assign Units: On the Subscription Setup page, make sure to assign the correct units—POS units and LS Pay units—to the respective POS you are using. For example, if you have five POS in use and five LS Pay units, ensure the correct units are accurately activated and linked.
-
Verify Available Units: The system retrieves the number of POS and LS Pay units included in your license. Check that the allocation matches your operational needs.
-
Request Additional Units if Necessary: If you need more units, such as for additional POS or LS Pay units, contact the LS Retail License team to update your subscription.
